Course

Enrolling, the course roster, grading-based skill tracking, and the course chat room.

A course is the academic version of a posting — taught by Faculty, with a syllabus of graded work. It's the most fully built-out of the four post kinds.

Enrolling

Open a course from Explore or its Hub page and click Enroll. That adds it to your dashboard and gives you access to its chat room.

Roster

The course room's info panel lists the instructor, teaching assistants, and enrolled students. The same roster (without any personal grade data) is visible on the course's public Hub page to anyone, signed in or not.

Skill tracking

Courses credit skills from graded work, not from an assigned position. Every assignment and test carries a skills[] tag and a score; your per-skill score is a weighted average — 50% assignments, 40% tests, 10% attendance — recomputed as new grades land. See Skill-Scoring System for the full comparison with how Events, Projects, and Jobs credit skills instead.

Room info

  • Attendance — a week-by-week record.
  • Assignments & tests — due dates and scores as they're graded.
  • Documents — lecture notes as real PDFs, with highlighting and notes.
